The New York City Police Department (NYPD) has checkmated Al Sharpton after the radical activist threatened to take legal action over a viral video showing a cop knocking a woman to the ground.

Sharpton threatened to sue the NYPD in civil court over the incident where a violent mob interfered in a police arrest.

As Slay News previously reported, the woman, Tamani Crum, attacked police officers as they tried to arrest a murder suspect in Harlem.

Crum attacked Detective Kendo D. Kinsey and his colleagues while they were in the process of arresting 22-year-old Elvin James.

James was wanted in connection to an August 12 murder.

The NYPD said the man had a loaded firearm and illegal drugs on him at the time of the arrest.
