When I worked for State of Illinois, the Bridge crew was replacing a handrail on south side near where Robert Taylor CHA housing high rises were located along I-90/94 Dan Ryan Xpwy.
The bullets started to ping off the concrete, so they dropped to tools, jumped into the trucks and got out of there.
Firearms on CHA property was not allowed, so go figure.
I knew a cop and when they got a call for CHA high rises at Cabrini- Greene they would go in there. If the bed was made up nice and neat, they would flip up the mattress and there was the pistol. ;)
