First time in a decade.

I am thinking that Putin is planning a Big Push from Belarus towards Kiev either just before or after Christmas depending on the weather in both Belarus which will be OK before Christmas in Minsk or just after for Kiev.

That could be an ominous sign. One thing that is bad for the world is if Russia/Putin gets desperate or otherwise more serious about Ukraine.

Do not fall for NATO hype. The US cannot supply Russia with sufficient weapons as we are a post industrial nation since NAFTA. Russia will have 1,000 modern MLRS rocket systems. They can fire 12 rockets each in 12 seconds or 12,000 in the first volley. Their rockets are as accurate as HIMARS but with 50% greater range and twice the payload. They can fire as many volleys of 12,000 rockets as it takes. That is in addition hundreds of missile and drone strikes plus 80,000 artillery rounds daily. I think Putin will offer a ceasefire just before Orthodox Christmas which is January 6th.

I'm certainly not listening to NATO. But Putin did cancel the equivalent of the State of the Union speech, and he doubtless did so for a reason related to Ukraine. And it's not something I would expect he'd do without a reason. Skipping it also comes at a political cost domestically within Russia, as people will wonder what's going on, and a leader never wants people to wonder things like that. So what would be worth that

The collapse of the Ukraine and the end of the war.

Putin recently had major colon surgery. If he goes, the next Russian leader may be a lot less restrained. NATO has backed Russia into a fight for their existence. The next few years will not good for the US.
