Funny. M1 Abrams has a gas turbine engine. Col Macgregor said that is great in a jet 1,500 feet in the air but all those dust particles are not good for the engine on the planet earth.

The only difference is traction. A fair contest would be both climbing the same hill. Maybe the Russian tank's tracks has tracks that are suited for ice -- I'd expect Russians to be more cognizant of that need.

The difference is that the Abrams tank has more weight per square inch of tread. This is an important measure.
