Oakland's new District Attorney is hoping to reduce prison and jail sentences for criminal defendants including murderers in her latest bid to fulfil ultra-woke campaign promises that shot her to the top job.

In a leaked memo from Alameda County DA Pamela Price circulated to her office she said she hoped to bring back balanced sentencing and subsequently reduce re-offending, according to the Berkley Scanner.

The directive also said that probation shall be the 'presumptive offer' during plea negotiations, and that low-end prison terms should be offered in cases that aren't eligible for probation – although nearly every crime in the California penal code is eligible for probation.

Violent crime is very high in certain zip codes withing Black neighborhoods. Young Black men are more likely to be killed in certain parts of Chicago than serving in Afghanistan. Though the Ukrainian Army seems more dangerous to me.
