His mistake was not stopping with just one.

I view all self defense cases as being murder cases the second the cops get involved because the state cannot and will not allow the average citizen to defend their lives, as it usurps authority from the governing body that uses violence to maintain order. You have no rights at all in the eyes of the state. You have privileges.
