I knew an old boy that was a cannoneer for Patton. He never missed a fire mission. He got frost bite on his toes during the Battle of the Bulge but could not prove it happened in the service so he couldn't collect. He was in his early 30s during the war. His buddies called him Doc. They told him he was "a runnin' MFer."
