When we drove trucks for Vestal out of Niangua, MO we would frequently pick up flowers in west suburban Miami. Miami was famous for that powdered white substance talked about in the video above.

One trip this guy was driving the tractor me and my co-driver usually had. He was going thru a scale house in South Dakota and a dog keyed on the truck. They stopped him and climbed all over the boxes of flowers in the trailer.

They ran his I.D. and found out he had a warrant in Texas and had him extradited. It must have been a felony since that would never happen over a misdemeanor.

I sure am glad I wasn't with him that trip because you know they shut that truck down at the scale until his co-driver's log caught up. And then that guy had to finish the trip by himself. And we would also pick up loads of fresh frozen chicken in Nebraska to take back to Springfield too.

I bet he had to have the Public Pretender and you can bet they gave him time in the joint on that one.

He was a brawler and we got in a fight on the road once. We buried the hatchet but he said, "Prepare yourself."

I wasn't going to get my ass kicked for any reason. I pulled up at a Wal Mart in Springfield and called the cops. When they got there I opened the sleeper door and awakened him.

When he saw the cops he said I was a pussy. I said, "That may be. But James (the boss) said he wants you out of the truck."

He had to take a taxi back to Niangua to get his car and that was nearly 35 miles away. ;)
