Rural hospitals in Ohio, Illinois, New York, and Oregon are closing down their maternity wards due to a staff shortage and lower birth rates, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

University hospitals in Ashland, Ohio, OSF Healthcare in Pontiac, Illinois, and Trinity Health in Troy, New York, and Baker City, Oregon, will all shut down their maternity wards by the end of the year.

In Pontiac, the local hospital, OSF St. James, saw a decline in births. The number of deliveries went from 500 babies a year to less than 180 a year.

Mike Rivero I would like to see a study of birth rate declines compared with vaccine compliance.

When I was a kid in Chicago in grade school the teacher was asking the kids what they wanted to be when they grew up. When it was my turn I said, "A farmer." All the other kids laughed.

But back in the 60s you could raise a family and make a profit on the farm.

Nowadays you need to go into hock to buy a piece of equipment.

I became a truck driver instead. ;)

Not surprising given that Bidet and his clot-shot mandates probably killed half of the country's nurses.

...and lower birth rates...

Depop marches on unabated. Sick, sick, sick.

I really must ask the nurses at the wound care clinic if they had to take the Covid vax to keep their jobs. I hadn't noticed if there were any staff shortages there. ;)
