First, you have a failure of law enforcement to remove the firearms from his house and possession upon being notified he was institutionalized. That is actually standard operating procedure whether it be military or civilian. Cops love that sort of thing because they get a bunch of free guns, and the person never gets them back. They get a cash voucher for the market value of said firearms. So if you have an expensive rifle, or you have NFA items, you more or less get fucked.
