Andre Braugher’s cause of death has been revealed.

The “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star died after a months-long battle with lung cancer, his rep confirmed to Page Six Thursday.

The spokesperson shared that Braugher had been diagnosed with the disease “a few months” prior to his death Monday.

The publicist previously had only shared that the beloved actor died from a brief illness at the age of 61.

Braugher was best known for playing a Baltimore homicide detective named Frank Pembleton on the ’90s police procedural series “Homicide: Life on the Street.”

More recently, his role as Raymond Holt on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” alongside Andy Samberg and Terry Crews, earned him two Critics Choice Awards and four Emmy nominations.

Damn, I actually liked him, as Pembleton on Homicide. He hated the liars that ran Baltimore.
