Using data compiled by the federal governments Bureau of Labor Statistics, the True Rate of Unemployment tracks the percentage of the U.S. labor force that does not have a full-time job (35+ hours a week) but wants one, has no job, or does not earn a living wage, conservatively pegged at $25,000 annually before taxes. Just as an accurate census is a prerequisite to funding American communities equitably, policymakers depend on economic indicators to shape economic policy. LISEP developed the True Rate of Unemployment to provide analysts and decision-makers with a more accurate measure of Americans financial well-being.
For a more in-depth explanation of the True Rate of Unemployment, please reference LISEPs TRU white paper.

What do they say? Do they take into account all the folks who gave up trying? I'm not sure, but I think the labor participation rate is the lowest ever.

One neighbor of mine claims he cannot work because he has bad knees. So, he sits at home, collects his Social Security Disability pay and hobbles around with a rolling walker that has a seat on it. I've seen him clear across town. :-/

My sister in Chicago told me Mexicans had bought the neighbor's brick bungalow, but they don't keep it up.
What little money they are making is going to pay the bank for the juice on their mortgage. Not sure if they have credit cards.
When I drove trucks, I had a credit card and was making enough I could pay it off every month, no carrying charges. ;)
