The latest offensive is 30,000 Russian soldiers who will bypass Kharkov (which is in the north 40 miles from the Russian border) to link up with the Donbass northern region. This will also cut off the whole region from the Ukrainian rail system and power grid.
The 300,000 will be for Kiev to set the country up for surrender. Zelensky's presidential term has expired so Putin will only recognize the head of the Ukrainian parliament as representing the Ukrainian people.
