Wehrner von Braun, the Nazi rocket scientist, is the reason the U.S. made it to the moon in 1969. JFKs speech in which he said, "We choose to go to the Moon." is because he had been briefed about von Braun.

The Atlas V rocket was five V2s strapped together. Unfortunately, we no longer have that technology.
