Officers responded to an alcohol theft call at Kroger when Ta'Kiya Young accelerated her car into an officer. Young's family has lawyered up and is calling for the prosecution of the officer who shot her. Barricades were placed around the statehouse downtown today.

Ta'Kiya Young, 21, was fatally shot inside her vehicle by an officer in the parking lot of a Kroger grocery store in Blendon Township on August 24, 2023. Her unborn child did not survive.
