Thing is, EVERYBODY knows she was just a DEI hire, and if a DEI hire is bad you give them something to do that you consider UNIMPORTANT.

The media is HAPPY to admit she wasn't really in charge of the border. Bizarrely, it is TRUMP who insists that she had any real responsibility instead of saying forthrightly what everybody knows but no one is saying.
