Vectors are additive. Mach 4.3 MIG 41 plus Mach 5 air to air missile = Mach 9.3. The SR 71 is a mere Mach 3.2. I heard that is operates at even higher altitudes. It has a lasar canon to knock out incoming missiles.

I don't think that would apply here. Aerodynamic drag goes up by the square of the speed and the missile propels itself. It's not being sling shotted from the aircraft.

You'd think at them speeds and altitudes that they would just use their electroplazmoers to phase thinga out the sky. I'm trying to remember them vacuum intake charges skin things I saw back on discovery channel in the 90s , mach 9...

The Kinzhal is Mach 10 and is air launched from a Mach 2 jet. The result is a Mach 12 missile that digs a hole 98 feet deep where its target used to be.
