Adolf Hitler the biggest criminal in history escaped from the ruins of Berlin and fled with his pregnant girlfriend Eva Braun to a life in the depths of Patagonia, Argentina where he died in 1962.

Hitler was allowed to escape to Spain at the end of the war in exchange for Nazi technology and scientists. I know this from reading the books Gestapo Chief by Gregory Douglas. From Spain they went to Argentina, specifically Patagonia.

The far right Peronistas were in power there. They were recently voted out after 60 years in power and a new more moderate government was installed. ;)
