Just askin'. I had a great story I wanted to send through PM.

Dearest Christa,

Chris told me that one of Angie's last wishes was to see the ocean and get her toes in the sand for the last time. It just so happens that one of Chris' buddies has an oceanfront condo in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Several of their friends got together and got together and bought the whole family plane tickets and money for meals for the week.

I think Chris said that all of the sudden, just before coming home, Angie took a horrible turn for the worse and was hospitalized. Chris said her ammonia blood levels were at a near-fatal level and she couldn't remember who he was. Hayley was instrumental in helping control Angie until she could be sedated to keep her from hurting herself.

She died at approximately 10 PM Monday 9Jun2025. She was 49.

Rather than flying back, he rented a car, and brought Wyatt and Hayley back. I suppose he and Hayley took turns driving. I don't think Wyatt can drive yet. He is using the residual of the plane tickets to be able to go back and personally to recover Angela's cremains and death certificates so "She doesn't get lost in the mail and get banged around in the back of a truck." He's hurting pretty badly.

He told me he's getting hundreds of text condolences now that the word is getting out.

The tentative plan is to have a Ceremony of Life service at D.O. McComb's Covington location because he doesn't think the Lake Avenue location will have enough parking available. No details yet.

Angie and Chris really saved me and my ex-wife Teri when my mother had a heart attack and couldn't take care of my Down's Syndrome sister Carol until me and Teri could get her into a Medicaid waiver home where she could get the 24/7 care she needed. Teri will probably be my escort to the funeral. Dr. Kimmy doesn't have any links to them or know them. Chris and Angie have been my family for the last 32 years.

Chris has some good damn friends. I didn't know, I tend to be somewhat insular, as does Kim.

I think Chris did pretty damn good, given the circumstances.

Good luck getting five people to show up for me. It'd just be me and the tow truck driver backing me and the Clown Car into the hole.

I'll try not to embarrass anybody too much at the 'Ceremony of Life', but I'm not a fancy person anymore. I bought a new black-on-black Hawaiian shirt for the occasion and my 'funeral carpenter jeans' are in the bag standing by.

Love,
Pacman, Resident dirtbag-at-large.

p.s. My finger's tired. I'm glad I didn't try this on my stupid phone. It would've gotten a flying lesson.

Sorry the PM wasn't online.

The other half of the story that didn't get through was about my Godson, Sling Blade. His GF committed suicide in his bed while he was working. She was 40.

His mother got ahold of me and let me know that he need a new mattress ASAP.

Not a good week for 40 year old gals in Ft. Wayne.

Dr. Kimmy told me to gird my loins and prepare for the inevitable.

I gave Chris a check (not taxable or reportable) for $9,600.

Christa (Tax-Babe) told me to keep it below $19,500.

What fucking ever.

Yeah, JFC. Amazon fucked up getting the mattress there the next day that I paid for.

Sarah and Sling Blade had a tenuous [not the word I was looking for] relationship. I knew this was going to happen.

I built my house in the hood which was white 45 years ago. I was the last one.

Now there's two new houses being built down west on the street.

(Edit) The three 40L X 130D lots I bought were less than $1,000<

Are you and your boy still in the US? War's on the way.

You're seeing more casualties than many combat veterans for most of their combat tours. It seems too cliche to say "Hang in there", and woefully inadequate, but what else could one say? Sorry man....

After seeing your note, I did just test the pmail service and it seems something is screwing up there. I'll take a deeper look at it.

New version of this site is under construction but that wouldn't/shouldn't be interfering with anything. Maybe a standard linux update thing that went fubar. I'll run a DB check.

I can't imagine the grief that Chris and his son is dealing with. I feel so bad for them.
