Well, here it is.  Get used to it because it's here to stay.  I supposed I should have warned that the old links won't work any more so if you're reading this, you figured that out already.

To post images or youtub vids, yous the icons in the toolbar above the text input.  Just copy teh URL into it and then you can size & position it in the input box.

It needs some more polishing around the edges, but with some modern enhancements that should have been put in place some 30 years ago.  You'll see them in the course of usage.

There's no headlines page.  That's taking far too long which would seriously bog down the system with all the bots hitting the site, so I swiched that off pending an efficiency enhancement. Not that it's heavily used by people.

Speaking of AI bots, I did see this site has been getting absolutely hammered by these bots so this upgrade is really neeeded for that reason.  I'll be adding some blocks and things to keep them from burning up all the CPU power of the server, and that will mean that without being logged in, you're gonna have more limited access.  Some of that is in place now to prevent the bots from doing searches.

There's no "setup" link as yet, but it will be much simpler than the old site as most of those features are not needed, I think.  I do want to add more color themes, especially the one Christine made (called Brushed).  That will be a good legacy theme to preserve here, for old times sake.

Let me know of any problems.  I already see the PW reset page need some cosmetic work.

But here it is....  Enjoy.  Or Not!

I've modified the whole setup so everyone visiting the old site URL, even if it's to read an article,  mail, or the setup page gets redirected to the home page here.  That means all the AI bots will come here too.  We'll see how the new site holds up.

The current web address for the site includes the non-standard "1443" port number.  This is required for the time being but will eventually go away.  The server is running 2 different web server packages called apache and nginx, and as long as it does, the 1443 will be required.  But once apache can be shut down, then the 1443 will go away.  I note that as any bookmarking of links right now will be changed later on.

Just noticed with my latest fix that lets people get to this site after visiting the old site URL was also steering people away from the signin page..... Seems fixed now.

Why can't I just cut and paste? I figured out how to post a video. But how do I post the text from other articles?

Cut n paste works for me. For your text, I just highlight it and then click in the text box, then middle click the mouse and it appears.  I can also do the normal copy of text, then do Ctl-V on the keyboard to paste it.  I do notice that right clicking brings the pop-up box but with no "Paste" option, but still, the Ctl-V keyboard makes it paste.  Linux handles copy-paste a little differently than windows.
