Democrats refuse to vote for a stopgap bill unless they can secure $1.5 trillion in spending that will fund healthcare for illegal aliens and sex reassignment surgery for children.
The New York Times/Sienna poll conducted from September 22 to September 27 found that 65% of Americans believe the Democrats should not use their demands as ransom to keep the government running.
This includes 43% of Democrats and 59% of Independents.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump warned earlier that if the Democrats shut the government down tonight at midnight, “we can do things during the shutdown that are irreversible, that are bad for them and irreversible by them.”
This includes “cutting vast numbers of people out, cutting things that they like, cutting programs that they like,” Trump said. “We don’t want fraud, waste, and abuse.”
