My buddy Rainman is an owner/operator. He's runs a longhorn Pete with a Cat 3406e(?) pre-eLog engine. He can use handwritten logs and fudge his hours.

A couple years ago, he was running lime dust for a windmill farm project down in OK/TX.

He was running empty at night in OK when he hit a big-ass steer that got out of it's pen. He ended up going off the road and turned his rig and a company pneumatic trailer on its side. Luckily, he was empty. I think he runs about 40,000+ lbs/load.

Totalled the truck, but he bought it back from the rancher's insurance company with the settlement and got it back on the road again. Got like a million and a half miles on it.

I used to do a lot of work, mostly electrical, on the thing until the arthritis crippled up my hands so bad. I also used to chase him around to get him to and from shops, Lima, Ft. Recovery, Middlepoint etc.

We used to spend a lot of time working on his truck, house and rental properties on weekends.

There might've been some race watching and drinking involved, but Kimmy keeps me pretty busy now.
