Between 2020 and 2025, the number of freshmen whose math placement exam results indicate they do not meet middle school[!] standards grew nearly thirtyfold, despite almost all of these students having taken beyond the minimum UCOP required math curriculum, and many with high grades."

This week, a math professor at MIT told me that incoming students are, on average, noticeably worse at math than they used to be. Harvard, of course, just added a remedial math class, Math MA5, "aimed at rectifying a lack of foundational algebra skills among

🇺🇸 THE USS GERALD R. FORD: AMERICA’S $8.4M-A-DAY FLOATING WAR MACHINE The most advanced aircraft carrier on Earth just pulled into the Caribbean, and yes, it comes with F-35s, nukes, drones, and a $8.4 million daily price tag. It's 337 meters of pure intimidation, powered by two nuclear reactors and one very expensive message: Don’t mess with us. It launches fighter jets using magnets (yes, really), stores weapons with robot elevators, and needs over 4,000 crew to keep the whole beast humming. Nicknamed “the most lethal ship ever built,” it now parks just offshore of Venezuela, and suddenly 200,000 troops pop up on Maduro’s lawn. Coincidence? Supercarrier. Super tech. Super expensive. Super dramatic. (One Kinzhal missile could sink it.)

The Colonization & Wall Resistance Commission reports that over 700 fires have been set by Israeli settlers on Palestinian properties in the occupied West Bank since October 2023.

Two men in casual clothing and headwear stand on a grassy hillside using long-handled shovels to extinguish a large fire burning through dry vegetation and olive trees. Smoke rises thickly from the flames in the background with a clear blue sky above. Nearby buildings and a hill are visible in the distance providing context of a rural Palestinian area in the occupied West Bank.

A young Palestinian child is photographed attempting to protect a lamb from Israeli settler attacks, while nearby on the ground another lamb lays burned and tortured in the aftermath of recent settler assaults targeting Palestinians and their agricultural sites.

A young boy wearing a cap and blue shirt stands with arms outstretched protectively near a small black and white lamb on a dirt ground beside a rough stone wall. Nearby, a larger brown lamb lies dead on the ground with severe burns on its body, exposed wounds, and blood visible on its head and legs. The setting appears to be an outdoor agricultural area with debris and another small lamb in the background. The image is signed Asef Nopal.

Israeli settlers launch coordinated attacks across West Bank under army protection —— Israeli settlers carried out coordinated assaults across several areas of the occupied West Bank on Tuesday evening, attacking Palestinian communities and property under the protection of Israeli soldiers, according to local reports. In Tulkarem, settlers set fire to vehicles and industrial facilities in the Beit Lid area, igniting large blazes and injuring several residents. Witnesses said Israeli forces guarded the attackers as they targeted nearby farmland and Bedouin tents, causing extensive damage. In Qalqilya, Israeli troops raided the town of Azzun and clashed with residents in the Al-Safha area, while in Masafer Yatta, settlers stormed the village of Umm al-Khair and released livestock onto Palestinian farmland. Settler groups also continued their incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Jerusalem.

Group of Israeli soldiers in green uniforms and helmets carrying rifles stand among a crowd of men and boys in white shirts and casual clothing on a street, with some individuals wearing kippahs, and buildings visible in the background.
