Last month, Seth Moulton, a Democratic Representative in Massachusetts running to oust Ed Markey from the Senate, announced that he would stop accepting American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) donations and return the money he had previously received from the group.
The move raised eyebrows, as Moulton is certainly not a dovish politician. In addition to being a longtime supporter of Israel, the former Marine pushed for the Houthis as a terrorist organization and refrained from criticizing the Trump administration’s June strikes on Iran.
Moulton’s move makes him the fourth House member to reverse course on AIPAC donations, joining Reps. Morgan McGarvey (D-KY), Valerie Foushee (D-NC), and Deborah Ross (D-NC).

A recently freed Palestinian woman has reported being subjected to sexual violence four times and being filmed naked during her detention in Israeli prisons, according to a statement issued by the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR).
The statement documented the testimony of the former detainee, identified as NA, and revealed an “organised and systematic practice of sexual torture including rape, forced stripping, forced filming, (and) sexual assault using objects and dogs” perpetrated by Israeli soldiers.
The centre said the testimonies it collected show that Palestinian detainees are subjected to “deliberate psychological humiliation aimed at crushing human dignity and erasing individual identity entirely.”
It stressed that “the testimonies do not reflect isolated incidents but constitute a systematic policy practiced in the context of the ongoing crime of genocide against more than two million Palestinians in Gaza.

Throughout the Cold War and ever since its conclusion, the US’ singular foreign policy objective has been to maintain American hegemony over the globe established at the end of the World Wars. A 1992 New York Times article titled “U.S. Strategy Plan Calls for Insuring no Rivals Develop” made it clear the US would actively prevent the emergence of any nation or groups of nations from contesting American primacy worldwide.
In recent years this has included preventing the reemergence of Russia as well as the rise of China. It also involves surrounding both nations with arcs of chaos and/or confrontation—either through the destruction of neighboring countries through political subversion, or the capture of these nations by the US and their transformation into battering rams to be used against both nations.
Ukraine is an extreme example of this policy in action. The US is also transforming both the Philippines and the Chinese island province of Taiwan into similar proxies vis-à-vis China.

Doctors at the overwhelmed hospital said both needed urgent surgery abroad. But Gaza’s last lifeline - the Rafah crossing with Egypt - had been sealed by Israel’s army.
The medical transfer requests prepared by the health ministry became meaningless paperwork. Within two weeks, Obaida succumbed to his wounds.
Like tens of thousands of critically wounded people in Gaza, Abu Zaid had pinned her hopes on the ceasefire signed between Israel and Hamas in October.
Under its terms, the Rafah crossing was meant to reopen to allow the wounded to seek treatment abroad. But more than a month later, Israel has refused to do so - one of many violations of the truce.

This is a serious acceleration of violence, but it is not new or isolated. Since the attacks of Oct. 7, 2023, over 1,000 Palestinians in the West Bank have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers; one in every five dead is a child. In the same period, over 3,000 Palestinians say they have been displaced from their homes and lands largely because of Israeli settler violence. Another estimated 40,000 Palestinians have been displaced in the northern West Bank by Israel Defense Force operations. In the past two years, Israel has erected nearly 1,000 barriers and makeshift checkpoints across the West Bank, suffocating Palestinians’ ability to move and work freely.

Cloned-animal foods could soon enter Canada’s food supply with no labels identifying them as cloned and no warning to consumers - a move that risks eroding public trust.
According to Health Canada’s own consultation documents, Ottawa intends to remove foods derived from cloned animals from its “novel foods” list, the process that requires a pre-market safety review and public disclosure.
