Washington and Tel Aviv immediately celebrated the closure as a triumph. GHF’s final statement declared it had succeeded in its mission and delivered a record 187 million meals without a single box falling into Hamas hands. American officials described the project as conclusive proof that the UN system was irredeemably corrupt and that only a militarized model could prevent aid from being “stolen by terrorists.”
But facts on the ground tell a different story. From its launch in late May until its abrupt end, GHF operated a system that deliberately lured starving Palestinian civilians into open killing zones. Every one of its four distribution points was deliberately placed inside active Israeli military corridors: three in the far south near Rafah, one near Nuseirat in the center of the Strip. The sites were ringed by Israeli forces and guarded by armed American contractors.
Announcements of food distributions were broadcast by loudspeaker and sent by text message, drawing thousands of desperate people across miles of rubble and destroyed roads. Once the crowds had gathered in the open, gunfire routinely erupted, often without warning. Independent monitors, including the UN Human Rights Office, Airwars, Forensic Architecture, and Gaza’s Health Ministry, documented about 1,000 Palestinians killed and several thousand wounded at or near those sites. Human Rights Watch, after analyzing satellite imagery, videos, and survivor testimony, concluded that multiple incidents appear to amount to war crimes.

BTselem: Settlers unpunished for 21 killings in West Bank ethnic cleansing'
By Mera Aladam, middleeasteye.netIsraeli settlers have gone unpunished in 21 cases where they killed Palestinians over the past two years amid what B’Tselem describes as a campaign of “ethnic cleansing” in the occupied West Bank.
The human rights group noted that the military has been enforcing “an increasingly permissive and reckless open-fire policy” in the Palestinian territory, including the use of air strikes, since 7 October 2023.
The military has also armed “thousands of settlers” while turning a blind eye to their near-daily bloody attacks on Palestinian civilians.
In a social media post on Monday, B’Tselem said there have been 21 cases of settlers killing Palestinians since October 2023, but “not a single perpetrator has been convicted”.
Overall, Israeli forces and settlers have killed more than 1,004 Palestinians in the West Bank since then, including 217 minors, according to B’Tselem’s tally.
In the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces have killed around 70,000 Palestinians, including at least 20,000 children, while another 10,000 people are missing and presumed dead.
“We are witnessing the total abandonment of Palestinian lives,” said Yuli Novak, B’Tselem’s executive director.
“The situation in the West Bank is deteriorating by the day and will only worsen, because there is no internal or external mechanism to restrain Israel or stop its ongoing policy of ethnic cleansing.”

Senator Rand Paul said that President Donald Trump’s warmongering in Latin America could fracture the GOP.
“I think once there’s an invasion of Venezuela, or if they decide to re-up the subsidies and the gifts to Ukraine, I think you’ll see a splintering and a fracturing of the movement that has supported the President,” Paul told Margret Brennan on Sunday. “I think a lot of people, including myself, were attracted to the president because of his reticence to get us involved in foreign war.”
Paul has been highly critical of the President ordering strikes on drug boats in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific. The US has destroyed 22 ships, killing at least 83 people. The Senator has condemned the strikes as extrajudicial killings.
The US has engaged in a massive military buildup in the Caribbean and threatened Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. Multiple reports have said the White House is preparing for strikes in Venezuela.
Paul pointed to Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Marco Rubio for pushing regime change in Caracas. “I think it’s clear that Senator Rubio, as a senator, was very much an advocate of regime change,” he explained.
Fractures have already emerged within Trump’s MAGA movement over his foreign policy. Some conservative commentators have demanded that Tucker Carlson and others be removed from the movement over their stance on Israel.

US Troops Fight ISIS Militants on the Ground in Somalia's Puntland Region
by Dave De Camp, antiwar.com
The raid targeted a cave in the Caal-Miskaad mountains and involved 10 helicopters, according to local media reports
US special operations forces were involved in a joint raid with local forces in Somalia’s northeastern Puntland region that involved an attack on a cave and ground fighting against ISIS militants, Garowe Online, a media outlet based in Puntland, reported on Tuesday.
The report said that, according to US Africa Command, the attack on the Habar Bajuuke cave in the Balade Valley, an area where the US has launched airstrikes in recent days, was supported by 10 helicopters. So far, AFRICOM has not put out a press release confirming its involvement in the operations.
The Garowe reports said that forces in the helicopters “landed on the ground and executed the mission following a confrontation between US troops” and members of Somalia’s ISIS affiliate. It said the operation lasted several hours and resulted in the capture and killing of several ISIS fighters. The report didn’t say if there were casualties among the US troops or the Puntland security forces.
“In the Calmiskaad area, high-value #ISIS targets were struck in a joint air and ground operation carried out by Puntland’s US partners supporting the ongoing mission. Further details will be shared in due course,” the Puntland Counter-Terrorism Operations said on X.
The US has supported local forces in Puntland since the US-backed Federal Government, which is based in Mogadishu, doesn’t control the region.

China has activated what the South China Morning Post describes as the world’s first commercial power unit using supercritical carbon dioxide, or sCO₂, marking a notable step forward in clean energy technology.
Developed by the China National Nuclear Corporation, the generator replaces traditional steam with high-pressure CO₂ to turn waste heat from steelmaking into electricity, according to SCMP.
