Unlike processes that trade weapons for political rights, sovereignty, and dignity, this model demands unilateral surrender, institutionalizes humiliation, and guarantees future conflict by leaving every underlying grievance untouched.
History is unequivocal: this type of disarmament almost never produces stable peace. It produces a defeated population, a deepened sense of injustice, and the conditions for the next eruption. It is a form of coerced domination whose message is unmistakable: your weapons will be taken, your dignity is incidental, and no political price will be paid in exchange.

While law enforcement officials continue to investigate the shooting of two National Guard troops in Washington, D.C., at lease one reporter has already pounced to make disgraceful assumptions on the incident.
Ken Dilanian of MS NOW suggested that the shooter was animated by many of the grievances against the Trump administration's policies that are popularized by the left.

"Of course, you know, there's so much controversy happening in the United States right now with ICE, who are also wearing uniforms and wearing masks," Dilanian said. "And so there's ... people walking around with uniforms in an American city. There are some Americans that might object to that. And so apparently this shooting has happened."

The Israeli army announced that it was launching a military operation in the northern West Bank, concentrating on a handful of villages and towns outside of the city of Tubas. ISLAMABAD
Jordanian King Abdullah and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday vowed "zero-tolerance" for any displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
Sharif hosted King Abdullah in Islamabad after the latter's arrival on a two-day state visit.
"On the issue of Palestine, both leaders acknowledged the unanimity of views and principled positions taken by Pakistan and Jordan regarding the post-war Gaza; zero-tolerance for any displacement of Palestinians from Gaza," Sharif's office said in a statement.
The two leaders agreed to enhance coordination among the eight Arab-Islamic countries that are working with the US on the Gaza ceasefire and peace plan, which includes a new governance structure and rebuilding of the enclave destroyed by Israel.

A new medical study found that the wide-ranging symptoms of Gulf War illness appear to be caused by a failure of cells to produce adequate energy, bringing experts a step closer to finding the root cause and a treatment.
The study, released Thursday in the peer-reviewed journal “Scientific Reports,” builds on 30 years’ worth of research from project lead, Dr. Robert Haley, an epidemiologist at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
MRI experts Richard Briggs and Sergey Cheshkov worked on the study to evaluate the scans and collect data, and the team found that those veterans with Gulf War illness had dysfunctional mitochondria, the structures responsible for generating the energy cells need to function. They identified this dysfunction based on increased creatine levels, Haley said.
“These veterans don’t have damaged neurons — which would be incurable — but an energy imbalance,” he said. “That suggests their symptoms could respond to new treatments.”

IDF reinforces illegal outpost inside southern Lebanon
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, who has long resisted anything resembling a settlement in the ongoing conflict with Lebanon (nominally in a state of ceasefire), has threatened to launch a new war against the country if Lebanon hasn’t fully disarmed Hezbollah by year’s end.
Katz vowed there would “be no calm in Beirut,” citing the recent attack on the capital by the Israeli military, and insisted Lebanon could have no order or stability unless the State of Israel’s security interests are fulfilled.
Such a disarmament by that deadline is effectively impossible, and the fact that Israel will not allow Lebanon even a modicum or order and stability is a big reason why. Lebanon’s government controversially agreed to disarm Hezbollah, but such efforts to do so in the south, beyond what Hezbollah allows them to do, are all but impossible as Israel regularly attacks southern Lebanon and the area is dangerous for the Lebanese state to try to operate in.

Students attending American public schools are struggling. Test scores from the 2024 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), released this year, indicate that 33% of 8th graders—a greater percentage than ever before—are reading at the “below basic” level.
Additionally, only 22% of high school seniors are proficient or above in math, down from 24% in 2019, and only 35% are proficient in reading—the lowest score since NAEP began in 1969—down from 37% in 2019. Also, a record-high percentage scored at “below basic” levels in both math and reading compared to all previous assessments.
Parents across the country, especially in big cities, have become aware of the problem and are removing their children.
In Chicago, public school enrollment has decreased significantly over the past 15 years, from nearly 403,000 students in 2010-11 to just over 316,000 in 2025-26, according to the Illinois Policy Institute. Most recently, the district reported a decline of 9,081 students between 2024-25 and 2025-26. IPI states that more than one in three desks in the district are empty.
For the 2025–26 school year, the New York City Department of Education discloses that 793,300 students are enrolled in K-12 grades. That’s a 2.3% decrease from the previous year and a nearly 10% drop since 2020. The data also show that 112 of the city’s public schools have fewer than 150 students, up from 80 schools just two years ago.
