The DC National Guard (DCNG) has inaugurated a new unit to protect civil authorities and infrastructure in the nation’s capital.
The 260th Special Purpose Brigade was formally launched in early March during a ceremony at the DC Armory, where its colors were uncased, marking the unit’s official entry into service.
Created following Executive Order 14339 and advice from the Department of Defense, the group will serve as a central office that will push interoperability between military forces and public security agencies, reinforcing safety in the US capital.

Iraqi resistance factions have carried out dozens of operations targeting US military sites in Iraq over the past 24 hours, in retaliation for Washington and Tel Aviv’s war on Iran.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IRI), a coalition of several Iraqi factions, announced on 11 March that its fighters “carried out 31 operations using dozens of drones and missiles against the occupation bases in Iraq and the region” within 24 hours.
“This brings the total number of operations in the past 12 days to 291, which resulted in the deaths of 13 Americans and the injury of dozens of them, including serious injuries,” the statement added.
The coalition was formed after the start of the Gaza genocide, and includes several Iran-backed resistance groups such as Kataib Hezbollah and Saraya Awliya al-Dam.
These groups are also represented in the Iraqi government, and make up a significant bulk of the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) – which was formed in 2014 to fight ISIS and now constitutes a major part of Iraq’s military institution.
In its own separate statement, Saraya Awliya al-Dam announced that it carried out four additional operations against US bases in Iraq and outside Iraq.

Israel Attacks Central Beirut as Death Toll Rises to 570

While Israel has been issuing more and more evacuation orders against various locations in Lebanon, that hasn’t stopped them from attacking targets well outside of those locations. Today, central Beirut’s residential district is in their sights, even though no evacuation order was issued before the strikes began.
Other deadly strikes were reported in the Baalbek District of eastern Lebanon and in multiple areas of southern Lebanon. The Lebanese Health Ministry updated the death toll since the latest Israeli war began, with 570 Lebanese killed in the last week and a half.
The 570 included 439 men, 45 women, and 86 children. They also noted that at least 14 healthcare workers were among the slain in the attacks. The official number of “registered” displaced people in Lebanon is now 780,000.

Report: US and Its Mideast Allies Have Fired More Than 1,000 Patriot PAC-3 Interceptors in Iran War
The US and its Middle East allies have already fired more than 1,000 PAC-3 interceptors using the US-made Patriot air defense system since the US and Israel launched the war with Iran on February 28, according to a report from Bloomberg.

Report: Iranian Drone Attack That Killed Six US Troops Was Worse Than the US Military Revealed
An Iranian drone attack that hit a makeshift US military operations center at a port in Kuwait on March 1 and killed at least six US troops was much worse than the Pentagon has revealed, according to a report from CBS News.
Sources told CBS that dozens of US service members suffered injuries, including brain trauma, shrapnel wounds, burns, and at least one soldier may need an amputation.
