House Ethics Bombshell: Decades of Sexual Misconduct Cases Exposed

The House Ethics Committee on Monday released a list detailing publicly disclosed sexual misconduct investigations involving members of Congress dating back to 1976, outlining dozens of cases that span multiple decades and administrations.

According to the committee, the list includes 28 investigations involving current and former House members, ranging from former Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) and former Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.), who both resigned from Congress last week, to the late Rep. Wayne Hays (D-Ohio).

Of the investigations listed, fourteen involved Democrats and twelve involved Republicans.

The late Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.) was investigated twice, once for pursuing a “sexual relationship with a staffer in 2014 and again in 2020.”

First Openly Gay DC Police Union Boss Arrested on Child Sex Charges [WATCH]

 A lieutenant with the Metropolitan Police Department has been ordered held without bond after being arrested in Maryland on charges related to the alleged solicitation of a minor, according to court proceedings.

Lt. Matthew Mahl, who has served with the Metropolitan Police Department for 23 years, was taken into custody Tuesday in Harford County, Maryland.

He faces charges of solicitation of sex from a minor and solicitation of child pornography.

Authorities said Mahl was most recently assigned to special operations and had previously served as the first openly gay chairman of the police union approximately a decade ago.

 Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, the U.S. special envoy for monitoring and combating antisemitism, said this week that the United States will bar individuals from attending the World Cup who are accused of fostering antisemitism in their home countries.

“The president and the secretary of state have made it perfectly clear that people who want to sow discord in this country are not welcome here,” Kaploun told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency on Friday. “People who want to bring their brand of hate to the United States with antisemitism are not welcome. Kaploun’s comments on a potential ban were first reported by Euractiv, which said he told a European Jewish Association conference in Brussels that the United States was “holding countries accountable for ministers who are saying things, and they are not being allowed into the country.”

 He Got Fired, Stole Beer and Matches, and Burned Four Strangers AliveOn March 16, Roman Ceron Amatitla got into a fight at his food processing job in Queens and was fired.

He told detectives he "needed to get his anger out."

So he walked to a three-story apartment building on Avery Avenue in Flushing and selected it at random.

Surveillance cameras caught him entering and exiting the building three times that morning, at one point urinating out front.

Then he crossed the street to a BP gas station.

He bought one beer, stole another, and asked for a lighter.

When told lighters cost money, he took a free book of matches instead.

He went back to Avery Avenue, touched flame to paper, and fed it into the trash pile at the base of the stairwell.

 Then he stepped outside, cracked open the stolen beer, and watched the building go up.

Three-year-old Sihan Yang was found dead on the third floor, killed by smoke inhalation.

Chengri Cui, 49, and Shin Chie Ming, 61, were found dead inside the building — also smoke inhalation.

Hong Zhao, 64, made it out but died at the hospital from injuries suffered jumping from a window.

Two FDNY firefighters crashed into the basement when the staircase collapsed beneath them during rescue operations.

"This was an act of mass murder," Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said. "One of the greatest crimes this borough has seen in a very long time."

Amatitla was arrested on April 8, charged with eight counts of second-degree murder and first-degree arson, and remanded without bail.

He is currently sitting on Rikers Island.

 ICE Asked. New York Said No.On April 14, federal immigration authorities issued a formal detainer requesting that the New York City Department of Corrections hold Amatitla and transfer him to ICE custody.

NYCDOC refused.

DHS acting assistant secretary Lauren Bis did not mince words.

"This monster set fire to a building and watched as innocent people, including a three-year-old, burned to death," Bis told Fox News Digital. "New York City sanctuary politicians REFUSE to cooperate with ICE and are choosing to RELEASE this MURDERER onto New York streets."

Hard red winter wheat (HRW) futures widened to their largest premium over soft red wheat (SRW) in more than two years as severe drought intensified across key breadbasket regions in the Great Plains and Midwest. This means traders are pricing in weather impacts and tightening expectations for higher-protein wheat supplies.

It is important to note that HRW is a more valuable protein and is primarily used in bread, rolls, and all-purpose flour. It is grown in the U.S. Plains (Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas), while SRW is used in cakes, cookies, crackers, and pastries, and is grown in the Eastern U.S. (Ohio Valley, Midwest, Southeast).

   The blowout in the HRW-SRW spread, the biggest premium in two years, is mainly due to weather stress as drought grips the central U.S. The market is currently pricing in possible supply imbalances and quality concerns for HRW.

 As of mid-April, 61% of the Lower 48 is in drought as the Northern Hemisphere growing season begins and farmers start plantings, according to NOAA. This equates to nearly 149 million people across the Lower 48 affected by drought. About 45 states were experiencing moderate drought conditions as of last week.
