And the Diablo nuclear power plant in California is on the San Andreas fault which is a slip pass fault and not an upthrust fault, meaning it is not likely to be more than an 8.2 quake.An 8.35 quake releases the same amount of energy as two 25 megaton Hydrogen bombs. A 9.35 quake is exactly one full point greater than the 8.35 quake on the logarithmic Richter scale. A 9.35 quake would release 31.4 times as much energy or the same as 62.8 25 megaton Hydrogen bombs.

However, Cascade Megaquakes in the past have triggered San Andreas faults. An 8.0 to 8.2 quake in California could complicate recovery for the Northwest.

In 1709 three volcanoes erupted in Europe causing a severe winter. The top 40 inches of the soil froze in France sending food prices 600% higher. We have 7 billion more people than in 1800 so a year without a summer could kill billions worldide from famine and consequent street violence, civil wars and resource wars between nations.
