More SNAP restrictions on the way

  4 more states will add restrictions on SNAP purchases in April.

Four states are ready to start cracking down next month. New restrictions take effect in April in Colorado, Florida, Texas and West Virginia.

Colorado and West Virginia’s new rules ban the purchase of soda or soft drinks with SNAP benefits. Florida goes further, also banning the purchase of energy drinks, candy and prepared desserts. Texas SNAP recipients will no longer be able to buy candy or any sweetened drinks that contain more than 5 grams of added sugar or any artificial sweeteners.

 President Donald Trump boasted on a call with South Carolina voters Monday night that the US will declare 'total victory' over Iran in the next two weeks.

Trump gave an updated timeline on the Iran war during a tele-rally in support of hawkish Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who is trying to avoid a runoff in Tuesday's GOP Senate primary in the Palmetto State.

'We've been a very tough team,' Trump said. 'And I think we are winning that battle. But you're really going to win it over the next two weeks when we declare total victory.'

'It will happen very soon and oil prices will come tumbling down,' the President added.

Trump originally told the Daily Mail in late February that the Iran war would last about four weeks, but it's now lasted more than three months - with gas prices around the country soaring.

'Somali' man arrested after attempted 'beheading' in Belfast: Knifeman wrestled to ground by hero bystanders during 'terrifying' attack that left victim with serious injuries

 A man in his 40s was rushed to hospital with serious injuries to his face, neck and back, and is said to be in a 'critical' condition.

A man in his 30s, who police say is believed to be Somali, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Police have declared the attack a 'critical incident' and are urgently investigating.

Hero bystanders were seen attempting to intervene, with one seen striking the man with a hurling stick. Others wrestled the suspected attacker to the ground in footage circulating on social media.

 Lyhanna, an 11-year-old schoolgirl from Fleurance, France, was kidnapped and murdered by Jérôme Barella, a 41-year-old father of a classmate, after she disappeared on May 29, 2026.  Her body was found seven days later in a disused grain silo approximately 15 kilometers from her home, with DNA confirmation provided on June 5, 2026.

The case has triggered national outrage and a judicial crisis because Barella had been the subject of multiple prior complaints for sexual violence against minors dating back to 2017, including a rape allegation from August 2025 that was not acted upon before Lyhanna’s death.  French President Emmanuel Macron and Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin have condemned the failures of the justice system, with Darmanin describing the situation as a "terrible failure of state action" and ordering a probe into why warnings were ignored.

Suspect: Jérôme Barella, arrested and charged with kidnapping and unlawful confinement; he denies killing Lyhanna, claiming he dropped her off at a swimming pool.

 Prior Allegations: Barella faced at least five reports or complaints involving minors over nine years, including dismissed rape cases in 2018 and 2024, and an unresolved 2025 complaint. (France has a liberal government with a man married to a man pretending to be a woman. Sound familar?)
