🪙Open interest alone does not reveal whether these positions are speculative bets, hedges, or part of a more complex options strategy. What we do know is that open interest in the $20,000 gold call options is historically unprecedented for such a distant strike price.
In the past, similar far out-of-the-money call options typically traded in only dozens, or at most a few hundred contracts. As expiration approached and the probability of reaching such a high price declined, open interest usually fell as positions were closed.
This time, however, the opposite is happening. Open interest has already exceeded 30,000 contracts and continues to rise, even though there is less time remaining until expiration and the price of gold has fallen significantly. That makes this a historically unusual situation

Three Thugs Scream “Free Karmelo!” as They Savagely Beat Innocent White Woman in Sickening Racial Hate Crime
Lee was walking back to her vehicle when she was suddenly jumped by the girls, whom she had never met.
Lee was beaten so badly that she had to get staples on her head, was placed in a neck brace, and covered with blood. She also got a black eye.
Fields revealed that Lee wrote that the perpetrators not only screamed “Free Karmelo!” during the attack but also bragged they were going to target “the smallest white girl they could find.”
Lee added that she” never said a word to these girls,” and “never looked at them.”
The first suspect, 21-year-old Ciarrianne Fuller of Longview, was arrested on Tuesday and booked into the Gregg County Jail.
The other two suspects, 21-year-old Dejae Brown of Pittsburg and 21-year-old Alana Mumphrey of Longview, turned themselves in to law enforcement on Thursday.
Per CBS 19, all three women have been charged with assault causing bodily injury.
