Ukrainian regiment 'tortured and beat its own soldiers to death'
At a training centre run by the 425th Separate Assault Regiment - also known as 'Skelya' - at least 25 Ukrainian soldiers have died in the past six months, with many of the bodies showing signs that they had been beaten and that medical care was delayed.
Kateryna Lykhohliad, a reporter with Ukrainian media outlet Babel, said the true figure was likely higher.
Her investigation revealed what appeared to be a systematic mistreatment of Ukrainian troops by their supposed brothers-in-arms, who allegedly keep them in prisoner-of-war-style camps surrounded by mines and guards with automatic weapons.
Despite bodies showing clear signs of abuse, deaths are normally listed as 'pneumonia' or 'heart problems.'
Babel reported that members of Skelya, an assault unit, regularly torture and beat other members to death.
A witness told the outlet that high-ranking members often referred to new recruits as 'disposables.'

Report: Trump Considers Return To Full-Scale War With Iran, Chooses To Hold Off For Now

The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday that President Trump has considered resuming all-out war with Iran, holding talks with US War Secretary Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs Chairman Dan Caine about potential strike options, but has decided to hold off for now and stick with engagement under the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding.
The report said the talks focused on whether the US should restart the full-scale war and abandon negotiations, and that while Trump hasn’t made a final decision, he told aides that he believed another round of full-scale strikes would derail negotiations and hurt the chances of dismantling Iran’s nuclear program, though Tehran has maintained it won’t give up its civilian nuclear program.

Board of Peace to launch Hamas-free camps as Israel tightens grip on Gaza

US President Donald Trump’s so-called Board of Peace is set to launch “Hamas-free humanitarian zones” in Gaza where Palestinians will be herded while the Israeli military expands its control on the rest of the territory, Israeli media is reporting.
Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom reported that the first site will open in Tel Sultan, near Rafah, “within weeks”, and house civilians “with no weapons or affiliation with Hamas”.
It added that the zone will be policed by a “multinational force”, known as the International Stabilisation Force (ISF), which will be equipped with “non-lethal weapons” and operate from the Israeli Amitai Camp near Gaza under the command of the board.
According to the report, while aid and temporary housing will be supplied to the areas, Board of Peace officials have pledged not to import concrete into Gaza.
The newspaper further reported that the board is seeking to establish “large logistics warehouses that will serve its efforts to regulate the humanitarian shelters, including in communities near the border fence”, and has begun identifying sites for this purpose.
Meanwhile, it said that the Israeli army will continue expanding and consolidating its grip beyond the so-called “Yellow Line” - an area that Israel was expected to hold temporarily in the first stage of the ceasefire but has refused to relinquish as it has not proceeded with the second stage of the deal, which requires its withdrawal.
The buffer zone now encompasses about 70 percent of the territory.
An unnamed official told Israel Hayom: “We are manoeuvring within the American constraints, increasing the pace of targeted killings while remaining below the threshold of international criticism - and this will continue as long as Hamas is unwilling to disarm.

Israeli Minister Vows Israel Will Control 100% of Gaza

The IDF currently occupies around 70% of Gaza, as it has taken more territory in violation of the US-backed ceasefire deal.
Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen, who is also a member of the Israeli security cabinet, vowed on Wednesday that Israel will control 100% of Gaza as the IDF continues capturing more land in the Palestinian territory in violation of the US-backed ceasefire deal.
“I say this because I sit in the Security Cabinet, and I understand that we cannot allow Hamas to raise its head again – not even by a millimeter. There is no such thing,” Cohen said in an interview with Galei Israel Radio, according to Israel National News.
The Israeli minister said that the IDF is steadily increasing its territorial control of Gaza, which aligns with what Palestinians are reporting on the ground. “We already see that we are progressing. I assume you will speak to me [again] in a few months – our control of the territory will only continue to expand until we reach 100%,” Cohen said.
