He's in legal hot water over his dodgy driving for the second time in four years, but the Daily Mail can exclusively reveal that Paul Pelosi's checkered past goes back much further and has seen him rack up almost $9,000 in traffic fines.

Pelosi, 86, ditched the arraignment hearing today over a hit-and-run smash that took place over the Fourth of July weekend and saw him careen into a parked Tesla in the tiny wine country town of Yountville.

His attorney, Amanda Bevins, pleaded not guilty on his behalf during the brief hearing in Napa County on Friday morning. Pelosi is charged with one count of misdemeanor hit and run over the incident.

The beleaguered senior citizen then drove away before his convertible car puttered out less than half a mile from the scene of the crash on Yountville Cross Road.

As a result, Pelosi is now facing one charge of misdemeanor hit-and-run and has had his license referred to the Department of Motor Vehicles for evaluation due to his age.
