(Iran has been receiving advanced North Korean, Chinese and Russian weapons, They could escalate by taking out US

air bases in Qatar, Jordan and Israel. Longer range missiles could wipe out Diego Garcia which would mean out carrier task force

would have to retreat.)

The Salt and Blood Pressure Story is Changing

(Salt is only bad for BP for some but not for others. Some BP caused by lack of Magnesium and

lack of Potassium. Dr Horse takes both. Weight loss lowers BP. BUT LACK OF SALT CAN CAUSE ACID

REFLUX. SO FAR I HAVE LOST 54 POUNDS THANKS TO OLIVE OIL AND POTATO STARCH.)

California farmers are struggling to sell grapes as demand for wine drops

This year, about half of California’s wine grape crop entered the harvest season without contracts with buyers, compared with 70 to 80% with contracts in a typical year, Bitter said.

Wine sales have decreased by more than 20% over a five-year period, causing prices paid for grapes to drop and prompting California growers to take roughly a quarter of the state’s vineyards out of production. Many growers are having to decide whether to harvest at a loss, leave grapes on the vine or replace vineyards with crops more in demand such as almonds, walnuts, pistachios and olives.

Berryhill, who owns Berryhill Family Vineyards near Lodi in the San Joaquin Valley, said he can’t find buyers for grapes grown on 200 of his 500 acres (202 hectares). He plans to remove 50 acres (20 hectares) of vineyards when the harvest season is over.

Chat GPT gives tips on how to get away with college vandalism.

After a Missouri collegian confessed to a 17-vehicle vandalism spree in text exchanges with ChatGPT, the AI program acted as a digital accomplice after the fact, providing “damage control” advice so that the suspect could “minimize any chance of getting connected” to the crimes, according to chat transcripts.

During a drunken 3 AM rampage, Ryan Schaefer, 20, last year damaged numerous vehicles in a Missouri State University parking lot after leaving an off-campus party. He shattered windshields, dented hoods, and broke side mirrors and windshield wipers.

Schaefer (seen above) eventually pleaded guilty to a felony property damage count and was recently sentenced to five years probation and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service. Additionally, a judge barred him from consuming alcohol while on probation and implemented a 10 PM to 6 AM curfew.

As detailed in these pages, a Springfield Police Department report revealed that the MSU student–10 minutes after vandalizing the cars–began an hour-long ChatGPT session during which he copped to the crime, asked about the possibility of getting caught, and wondered, “is there any way they could know it was me.” Cops discovered the chat session after Schaefer handed over his iPhone and password.

While the police report included a multitude of Schaefer’s incriminating statements, the ChatGPT replies were only described as “tips about the potential outcome of getting caught or being involved in this kind of behavior.”

$365 trillion in global debt. 5.44% on the U.S. 30-year Treasury. The debt bill is coming due.

Global debt tops $365 trillion as economists sound alarm over ‘vicious cycle’

Ever-higher costs to service mounting debt loads pose a major risk to governments around the world, economists have warned.

Global debt rose by $10 trillion in the first half of the year to top $365 trillion, according to research published by the Institute of International Finance on Wednesday.

The Washington-based group found that advanced economies paid over $3.3 trillion in interest on internationally traded government bonds last year, more than global spending on AI ($2.6 trillion), defense ($3.1 trillion), or clean energy ($2.3 trillion).

 BOND MARKET BLOODBATH

The yield on the 30-year US Treasury bond climbed more than 3 basis points to 5.444%, its highest since 2004, as prices fell.

US and global yields jumped on Wednesday after data pointed to strong US growth and rising inflation pressures, causing traders to increase their bets on Federal Reserve rate hikes.

Bonds around the world have been under pressure for months as the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran has pushed up energy prices, growth has proved resilient and investors have fretted about high levels of government debt.

Recall of 167,000 pounds of meat with fake inspection labels. Full list of all recalled products.

Star Meat Delivery Inc., based in Lucama, North Carolina, is recalling 167,639 pounds of raw pork, beef and goat products that were distributed to restaurants and retailers, the agency said Tuesday.

The items were “produced without the benefit of federal inspection, bearing labels with a false USDA mark of inspection,” the USDA said. The products beared the number “EST. 1363,” which does not have a federal grant of inspection, and should be considered misbranded and unsafe to eat, the agency said.

Federal law requires all meat sold commercially be inspected and passed to ensure that it is “safe, wholesome, and properly labeled,” under the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

This recall has been classified as class I, the highest health risk, which the agency notes is a “health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.”

A new era of warfare has arrived and running from it only buys you five extra seconds…

"Welcome to the tip of the iceberg. In 10 to 15 years drones like that will be insect sized with on board facial recognition software, no need for a pilot, and carrying just enough of an explosive charge to blow an 8 inch deep hole in you… and they’ll be getting dropped over towns and other target areas by the hundreds of thousands at a time."

GALLUP: Acceptance of Socialism Hits Record High

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Forty-three percent of Americans now have a positive view of socialism, marking the first time this figure has exceeded 39% in Gallup’s trend since 2010. Socialism still trails capitalism and free enterprise in public favorability but now ranks ahead of big business. Small business remains the clear leader among the five economic concepts tested, with 95% viewing it positively.
