The Department of Energy issued the emergency order to PJM which powers 65 MILLION people.

The emergency order allows power plants to exceed their pollution limits in order to keep operating.

They claim that hot temperatures are straining the grid…. In October.

The emergency order allows PJM to force data centers off the grid and onto their backup generators, but that is a last resort before ROLLING BLACKOUTS.

The grid could have as little as ~900 MW of cushion left.

Not sure about anyone else, but I do not think this is normal.

It's supposed to get to 86 here today. I had to kick on my A/C about an hour ago.

It was 71 when I got up this morning. It's been in the mid forties usually.
