Cloris Leachman's final scene in "The Last Picture Show" (1971) was filmed without any rehearsal. She wanted to rehearse the scene but Peter Bogdanovich was against the idea as he thought that it would ruin the scene.

Bogdanovich was so happy with the first take, he said to her, "Cut, print, you just won the Oscar.’

Leachman replied, ‘I can do it better.’

Then Bogdanovich said, ‘No, you can’t.’

Bogdanovich felt that way since the scene was so fresh and she was shaking. He knew she couldn’t possibly do it better. She could hardly breathe after filming the scene.

He was proved right when she won the Oscar for her performance.

P.S: Remembering Cloris Leachman on her 100th birthday!

In a year you’ll be bragging about catching rotisserie chicken on sale for $30

Everything the government touches turns into AIDS

Rotisserie Chickens will soon be able to be purchased with SNAP funds.

Salacious neighborhood gossip:
My neighbor Chris across the street lost his 49 y/o wife to cancer last June.
Well, he's changed his routine. He works 2200-0600 with the Sheriff's Dept.
A few day a week now, he has another car in his driveway.
The first time I noticed it a month or so ago, it was a Ford wagon, a Fiesta, I think, like I got for Marla, but this one was a really cool blue color. Marla's was safety green.
I asked him about it, he said a 'friend was hanging out after work.'
The blue car has been replaced by a white SUV with temporary tags. Chevy/GM, I think, they all look alike now.
He didn't come home at all today.

My pseudo-adopted boy might have a new girlyfriend. I've never seen who owns it. Yet. I don't spy on him all day, but I do go outside to smoke, weather permitting.
It's about damn time. My longest time alone was the time between Cari when the clot-shots took her, and Kimmy, nine months.
I wish him the best, he's been a depressing, surly bastard since he became a widower.
Another heartbeat in the house and some fuckin' will be good therapy for him.

I miss his wife Angie, she'd give me a heads-up when I'd get a delivery or when the police were surrounding my house during a swatting.
She told me that she went outside and yelled at them about what they wanted the last time.
I'd just taken some aspirins and was in bed because my arthritis was bad that day.
The cops were pretty pissed when they realized that they got played, again.

Chris and Angie took my handicapped/retard sister into their home [pre-arranged w/instructions] when Mom had a heart attack in 2013 until me and Teri could get Carol into a Medicaid-waiver home where she got 24/7 care. Carol died in 2018. Her funeral looked like an MLK rally.
Chris and Angie were like family. Taking care of my sister was the start of her in-home daycare service for friends after the cancer got to her.
I set them up with my tax-babe Christa, to do their taxes which got too complicated when the bux rolled in.

I knew Chris was in trouble with money with cancer medical bills. I gave him about $10k for the funeral, and another $20k when the roof on his house that I put on ~16 years previous decided to start leaking.
I swung a deal with the metal roof company to do my shop at the same time. I think the total was about $27k, two-thirds of it was Chris' joint. My shop [detached garage] is small.

And no, I wasn't banging Ange when Chris was deployed after 911 changed everything and I was managing their property, my GF wouldn't have been happy. My wife wouldn't have put up with it either.

Mostly X, people send things to me to push an agenda.

"people send things to me to push an agenda..."

I wouldn't do anything to hurt the US, I still have the tux I had to buy for some fancy-dancy affair when Pam, and a lot of others, got their awards for being good 'Company Employees' for X-Number of years.
Pam's (Punk) was 25 years.
I can still see bits and pieces of it, but my brain injuries can't make me remember where it was for love nor money. I can see the table, and the people, the podium, but I don't know where it was.

Whatever. I miss Pam and I'm glad Doc found me again.
My luck has to be running out.

I miss you and your pithy wit now that you're a big shot.

My intern confused 'you're' with 'your'. [I fixed it]

I had her killed.

It's inversely related to vehicle size. That's why Kim hates the Clown Car.

It's also why nurses were fighting to hold my dicq while I peed in the ER when I was temporally paralyzed a couple months ago.

According to world socialist website I am a helpless quadriplegic being kept alive by random candies offered by passersby in some godforsaken east coast rail terminal.

"Good man, do you take contracts?"

Not since the beadmaker longevity deal.
After a year of constant testing, the company decided that breadmakers are 'attic queens'.
I even made a prototype of a slicing jig to cut the stuff into usable slices.
The big accomplishment in my life.
I made a ton of friends disposing of loaves. I bought bags from USPlastics to bag them.
Gave 'em away at Spudz Bar.

Obviously that getting rid of the commies that my Dad took on, and I picked up on didn't stick.

Chris buzzed out my lawn with his ZTR. He bitched about bills.
I picked up my mail before I went to the store for Kimmy's dinner fixin's.
He jinxed me, there was a $1,500 bill for car insurance in my mailbox.

I got a feeling my GFs gonna be crying tomorrow before she goes back into the killing zone.
She was pretty moody this weekend.

Shrink: "I didn't know you smoked. When did you start?"

Spook: "When I stopped drinking."

"Why did you stop drinking?"

"Because I was a drunk."
The Numbers Station (2013)

When I came to after Janice hit me head-on, some asshole New Haven cop while I was taped to a backboard got right in my face to smell my breath.
I didn't drink after the 'Jeremy incident' (killing, self-defense) in 2008 at my wife's wishes.

I was so banged up after Janice almost killed me in 2013, a divorce, and went through five years of physical therapy that I started drinking again.

Kimmy was the only one that knew where I was going to back then in 1980.
I'm amazed that she remembered 45 years later.
