Victor Ostrovsky is  best known for authoring the controversial 1990 memoir By Way of Deception

The Israeli government attempted to ban the book in the US and Canada, arguing it endangered agents, but a US appeals court overturned the injunction, allowing the book to become a New York Times bestseller.

  He followed up with The Other Side of Deception (1994), in which he alleged Mossad support for Hamas to destabilize the PLO and involvement in the death of businessman Robert Maxwell.

  Ostrovsky, who holds dual Canadian and Israeli citizenship, now lives in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he operates an art gallery and paints, often drawing inspiration from his espionage experiences. Pair of Woke Bills in NY Could Free Notorious Killers Including ‘Son of Sam’

The Elder Parole bill would allow people convicted of certain crimes (including some violent felonies and murders) to apply for parole once they reach age 55 and have served at least 15 years of their sentence. It expands early parole eligibility for older inmates.

The Fair and Timely Parole bill would require the parole board to presume release for most inmates who have served their minimum sentence, unless the board can prove they still pose a clear public safety risk, and also reduces the weight given to the “nature of the original crime, especially for older convictions.

 Further, it shortens the time between parole hearings.

  The New York Post reports:

Both bills could result in the release of vicious killers — even if they were sentenced to life in prison.

  Presumptive Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman said he vehemently opposes bills and accused Hochul of pushing for the release of killers.

“Kathy Hochul has fast-tracked the release of violent criminals — even those who’ve killed police officers – and will certainly grant ‘get out of jail free’ cards to even more dangerous thugs,” the Nassau County executive said. “The Hochul pro-criminal era ends the day I take office.”

  Mark David Chapman, who executed John Lennon, could also be free to walk the streets again.
