It seems the only place he can post without wearing out his welcome is Free Republic.

They were made for each other. Those idiots (you'd have to be one to stay - continue on there) represent National Globalist "R" trash.

Other lunatics were made for DU or some people's place dump or the other Israel first site that is stuck in the mud now.

My vague recollection is one or two RP supporters were banned for continually filling up the breaking news box with RP campaign press releases, and not stopping when asked.

My recollection is that beyond Goldi's claim that "every other thread" being posted was about Ron Paul, there was lots of "spamming" type of threads, which Goldi decided to blame on "Ron Paul posters."

IIRC, that was a bald face lie. She didn't have a problem with frequent Mitt Romney threads, frequent John McCain threads, or any others who were running. Just Ron Paul and accusations that "just the spamming" was being done by Ron Paul "followers."

Ridiculous.

But Palo may have a better memory about that, since she left because of Ron Paul being verboten.

Until Ron Paul's Trotsky memo (preceded by his fairy tale support and inability to stand up for his votes), 4um was fully behind his campaign.

It's a FREEDOM 4um, not a De Constructionist forum. Not a National Globalist Bankster forum. Not a World Socialist Totalitarian Police State forum.

I was a big RP fan and I thought it was repetitious overkill.

No forum for free speech is obligated to let itself become a platform for one particular group or even a few very dedicated posters.

I agree. I was a RP supporter myself, and was happy to read about his thoughts on different subjects, but "RON PAUL EATS A CHEESE SANDWICH FOR LUNCH!" isn't exactly breaking news or something I'm interested in reading about.

I did notice that after RP articles were largely banned, for some reason you had a steady daily stream of Paul-hater threads posted. Those somehow never seemed to get pulled. This went on long after Ron Paul's campaign ended and were obvious hit pieces.

I noticed that too,and never could figure out why it was happening, other than the RINO Party Animals needed somebody to blame for John McLunatic losing the election, and they weren't about to blame McLunatic.

I hope her heart exploded over the weekend and the last face she saw on Faux News - the last voice she heard, as she faded out - was Ron Paul's.

More recently, you could see a very large number of Birther threads. OTOH, those seemed to displace the huge numbers of the "GUESS WHO" threads about illegals and crimes they committed.

There weren't any articles about Ron Paul in the mainstream press
the only articles which could be posted about him were those press releases
I don't think we went overboard for Ron Paul
the candidate with the most energy behind him wins
we did the right thing to pour all our energy into Ron Paul when he was a viable candidate

IIRC, Palo took issue with Ron Paul followers being the spammers.

As far as the posting of threads, the threads posted about Ron Paul were articles being written in major news outlets about a candidate for the office of President.

It was ridiculous to state such articles can't be posted.

I do recall some thread or post about a RP assassination, or comments about such a thing, vaguely. It's been too long ago for me to remember with specificity; Palo may have already left by then, in any event.

If you doubt 4um is quite so free, you must have a basis for that. What is it?

The statement by christine on the site's home page that anyone can be banned for arbitrary reasons? I don't object to that; I just don't believe in pretending that those words have no meaning.

Too Jewy, Too Truthy, Too Birther. Pretty much your words.

Well, I think my words were "Birthier, Truthier, and Jewier". Excuse my fondness for the rhythm of the words. You could almost make an advertising jingle for candy bars with it...

And here I thought you were telling me how freely everyone could express themselves here on any topic. Am I somehow oppressing you with only three teeny-weeny words?

And, the best part, if you ignore someone for being an a-hole, bet on you being on someones list too.

I tend to only bozo those with huge colored font sigs or endless graphics. Of course, LP didn't have a sig line feature (that I noticed) so 4um is better that way; I noticed 4um's no-taglines feature just after I started using browser filters to kill them all off manually in Firefox. Obviously, Neil Ivers produced a more complete forum software for 4um; LP has an older version. I got the impression that Neil parted ways with Goldi over how the forum was run though he was too classy to start a food fight with her over it.

Ask Palo. I think she was involved in this at some level because she was a pretty dedicated RP follower.

I think Goldi disgraced herself over Ron Paul
but Too Conservative said we (the Ron Paul followers) overdid it
that we turned whole forum into Ron Paul campaign HQ
and for posters who were not into that
we ruined the balance on the forum
TC may have a point, and perhaps Goldi was responding to that
but I don't think so
Goldi's candidate was Tancredo, she would have accepted LP becoming Tancredo all the time
if he had not dropped out
she simply didn't go for Ron Paul I have decided to overlook it that that happened, others may hold it agaist her
Love, Palo

I eventually returned to LP despite the banning of Ron Paul articles, I like the forum
and posters disobeyed the banning anyway, we always had Ron Paul threads going on

Precisely.

These forums only have a certain amount of sidebar space. I recall seeing a half-dozen or more spammy Ron Paul threads in a row. That happened a number of times. Posting like that is just an attempt to use someone's forum as your own press release site. Sometimes really good articles just disappeared and were never seen by most posters because they just got bumped off the bottom of the sidebar list.

Of course, I didn't fail to notice how all the Ron Paul threads were supposedly banned. Well, except for a constant string of Paul-hater threads and I think a couple of well-known posters at LP had a second ID to post them under so they could then leap in under their real names. It's not like it's that hard to tunnel to a remote machine or use Tor. The Paul-hater threads characteristically were a single post from some Paul-hater blog no one had ever heard of and the poster of the thread left virtually no comments of their own. One assumes this is because they were aware that we all have habitual speech patterns and that their duplicity would be readily discovered if they posted anything under their fake ID.
