When China and Brazil put controls on it, Bitcoin took a 20% drop overnight.
Besides, Crypto is just digits on a computer. It could also vanish completely if the internet goes down. ;)

It's been very volatile, but has not died. And it seems to be poised now for another run up.
And cash isn't?
If the internet goes now, so does the USD and all other fiats.
It is true that bitcoin has no intrinsic value as gold does. But of all the necessary qualities a money must have, bitcoin/crypto currency scores high is most of them, many of which it scores higher than gold and silver, such as transferability and divisibility.
