Nancy Pelosi: The 2019 "60 Minutes" interview

Video by CBS News

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi didn't hold back during an interview with 60 Minutes regarding her opinions on the capabilities of President Donald Trump.

"I think that there's nobody in the country who knows better that he should not be president of the United States than Donald Trump," Pelosi said when asked to describe the president.

60 Minutes journalist Lesley Stahl then asked if Pelosi thought Trump was aware he should not be president.

"I think he does. Yeah," Pelosi said. "But I respect the office he holds and, uh, he's not-- worth the trouble of saying you're so horrible we can't work together. No, we need to work together."

Working together was a frequent call from Pelosi during the interview, including among members of her own party.

"You are contending with a group in Congress: Over here on the left flank are these self-described socialists, on the right, these moderates. And you yourself said that you're the only one who can unify everybody. And the question is can you?," Stahl asked.

"By and large, whatever orientation they came to Congress with, they know that we have to hold the center. That we have to be m- go down the mainstream," Pelosi said.

The congresswoman later shrugged off assertions that the Democratic party is fractured due to progressive voices like New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a group that Pelosi said was "like five people."

To illustrate the divide between members of the party, Stahl cited calls from progressives for Medicare for all. "Medicare for all — it's not only being pushed by some members of your caucus, but also some of the presidential candidates. And it is allowing the president to say you're all socialists," Stahl said.

"Do you know that when we did Med - when Medicare was done by the Congress at the time, under Lyndon Johnson, Ronald Reagan said, Medicare will lead us to a socialist dictatorship. This is - this is an ongoing theme of the Republicans," Pelosi said, before adding that she rejects socialism "as an economic system." "If people have that view, that's their view. That is not the view of the Democratic Party," Pelosi said.

Later in the interview, the California Democrat said that she feels the country is strong enough to survive Trump's term as president.

"I think our future is strong enough - built on a strong foundation to withstand everything including the current occupant of the White House. I don't think for two terms though," she said.

It's not a "theme" or a "view" just because she's a denialist and propagandist who rejects having Socialism called what it is: camouflaged Communism. Ref. USSR acronym for: United Soviet Socialist "Republics".

Like the Left's periodically recycled Minimum Wage Scam to eliminate the Middle Class in stages by No Comparable Cost of Living Increase in Payscale for them to maintain their margin of earnings ratio above that level (so that it methodically shrinks each time by the amount of the Minimum Wage Hike decrees; which also robs skilled workers of earned raises acquired through months and years of work efforts): So have Communistas designed the Medical System to eliminate the ability of the Middle Class to retain their homes and other assets, even their Independence -- all of which are channeled to be absorbed by agencies of government eventually for "death panel" rationed (but still exorbitantly priced) .gov-controlled Medical expenditures, since the "Bourgeoisie class" couldn't afford better insurance due to the Bolsheviki Minimum Wage Scam Racket. Ironically, people categorized as somehow disabled but who want to work for a paycheck, while attempting to live independently from totalitarian .gov MedicalComplex-dictations, might get paychecks that calculate to far less than Minimum Wage. Impoverished people in need of some Food assistance to help keep their health from deteriorating might not be approved for that at all and those who are able to work for .gov contractors can expect to get no paycheck, just an allowance of State-apportioned food rations for their indentured servitude labor in the Gangsterism "economy" that is permitted to "sanctuarially" employ illegal aliens instead of hiring Americans.

We could descriptively call all of those results as cruelly Machiavellian but it's still Communist Socialist Systematics, which the Democrats/Commiecrats want expanded to hideously include Abortion as "health care" for .gov funding purposes and also the "doctor performed" killings/Infanticide of aborted babies born alive, after which they want to use those body parts for experiments and profit. Now they expect to play "Election Economy Party Games" again -- as if their nation-wrecking coup actions and their Anti-Constitution actions of contempt for America's rightful form of government is just "mainstream politics" here but they are not the mainstream of anything about America's Constitutional Republic and electoral process of governance. They are the mainstream of Marx and Engels, Lenin, Trotsky, Stalin, and Mao -- foreign to ours and militantly invasive.

USSR acronym for: United Soviet Socialist "Republics

How quickly we forget. It was Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

Now if the bums could figure out what a Republic is we would be in business. ;)

I remember. I was there (in the 60s, not the CCCP). Not to nit-pick though, but isn't "united" kind of a synonym of "union"? Can't expect these kids to know everything, especially in our current culture of "Victimhood and Alarmism."

Hmmm... Apparently my "old people computer" (Telikin, Linux based) doesn't approve of me using the terms "Victimhood" or" "Alarmism". Sh*t, I know I'm old, but c'mon!

One of the things I find refreshing down here is the lack of PC BS especially where we live. It is agriculture and fishing. Chinese and whites call national black women 'negra', the black lady calls the Chinese 'china' and the white gal 'rubia' for her blonde hair. It goes on like that. Outsiders, though, best stick to your PC straight line though. Haha I've been here noe for 10 yrs this month. WOW.

Thanks for the typo correction, BTP, and to all for your neighborly posts here, as well as interesting discussions of history, linguistics, culture and PC absurdity.

A few archivings re: The Russian Language and the Cyrillic Alphabet:

Soviet: derived from a Russian word [совет] signifying council, assembly ; Soviets: political organizations and governmental bodies, primarily associated with the Russian Revolutions and the history of the Soviet Union

Urban Dictionary: cccp

"The russian abreviation for 'USSR'. These latin symbols are identical to the cyrillic ones used in the Russian alphabet. CCCP is pronounced as: Soyuz Sovetskih Sosalistichiskih Republic" - "CCCP is USSR" [Union of Soviet Socialist Republics]

"No, it's pronounced as 'Soyuz Sovetskih Socialisticheskih Respublik'."

What did CCCP mean in Russia? - Quora

The Russian language [is] partly derived from the Greek Alphabet. It was devised by St Cyril in the Byzantine era, hence it is called the Cyrillic alphabet. CCCP is an acronym. The full Russian phrase that this acronym stands for is: Союз Советских Социалистических Республик (Soyuz Sovetskich Sotsialisticheskich Respublik) It just so happens that "CCCP" looks like Roman letters, but they stand for different sounds. "C" equals the Roman "S" while "P" equals the Roman "R" The "P" is actually from the Greek "P" (rho). [Alphabets Chart] One western misconception that amuses me is the backwards "R" (Я) in the Cyrillic alphabet. We see western ads in print that use this letter to try and look Russian by using it in place of the Roman "R". Vodka ads do this all the time. In fact, "Я" is a vowel and is pronounced -ya (ioticized "a")

Edit to add another Russian translation for CCCP/USSR/Union of Soviet Socialist Republics @ the top-right sidebar of a Wikipedia page about the Soviet Union: Soyúz Sovétskikh Sotsialistícheskikh Respúblik [Ref. kich letters above at the Quora source changed to kikh]

I caught it so I figured I had better point it out. Thanks for the compliments too. I am lucky to recall much of this since the meningitis wiped out so much of my memory. And thanks for your other clarifications. Much appreciated. ;)

Thanks for the clarification, Grey. Probably the most interesting thing I've heard or read today.

(Unnamed Facilitator) "So Jim, what beliefs or thoughts possessed you to offend that poor, young woman at Taco Bell by calling her 'Ma'am'?"

(Some kooky, old guy named Jim [an obvious alias]) "You mean aside from the fact that it was beaten into my head between 1960 to 1976, when my father died, that referring to folks as 'Ma'am or Sir' is a polite form of respect to people that you don't know their names?"

(Facilitator) "And?"

(Jim) "And what? There's no thoughts or beliefs involved. It was just what I was taught. OK, blame it on upbringing."

(Facilitator) "I guess you're going to need a little more work on your manners."

(Jim-deadpan) "No shit, Sherlock. Good luck with that."

Sounds to me like a PC racketeer, Esso. They're in the business of being Cultural Marxist Chaos Agents -- not facilitators of Western Civilizational values, imo.

Actually if you use the Russian pronunciation it sounds like Si-use Sovietsky Socialistischkee Rezpooblik. It is hard to reproduce in english as the Cyrillic alphabet has another 5 characters (32 instead of 26).

It's court ordered, Grey. Maybe if this fictitious Jim character can keep his temper for just two more sessions, and write a good enough confession, maybe he'll be out of the grasp of the system.

For now, I hope.

Well, I guess it's all about the money too. Jim don't care anymore, he's got nothing left to lose.
