'He needs to rot': Dad's fury as sheriff's deputy on duty during Parkland school shooting is hit with 11 charges - including child neglect, negligence and

perjury - for hiding during the massacre that claimed 17 - as he faces up to 96 years behind bars.

A former Florida deputy on duty during the Parkland school massacre has been arrested on 11 charges for failing to confront a gunman during the massacre that claimed 17 lives.

Scot Peterson, 56, was arrested on Tuesday and faces child neglect, culpable negligence and perjury charges that carry a combined potential prison sentence of nearly 100 years.

Peterson, who was a Broward deputy at the time, was on duty as the school resource officer during the February 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
