President Donald Trumps approval rating currently sits at 43 percent, having stayed between 40 and 46 percent since April, according to the latest Gallup poll released on Thursday.
Gallup polled just over one thousand people in all 50 states from June 3 to 16, and found that the majority disapprove of Trumps job performance, but his approval rating has improved this year after Trump frequently got ratings of around 35 percent approval during his first year in office.
43 percent approve
55 percent disapprove
3 percent had no opinion
The fact that Trump is routinely registering approval ratings at or above his term average of 40 percent could be due to consistently low unemployment figures and a generally strong economy this year, Gallups Megan Brenan writes.
When broken down by demographic, Gallups poll shows:
Men approve of Trump, 49 percent to 47 percent
Women disapprove, 36 percent to 62 percent
White Americans approve, 50 percent to 48 percent
Non-white Americans disapprove, 27 percent to 68 percent
Americans age 18-34 disapprove, 33 percent to 63 percent
Americans age 35-54 disapprove, 42 percent to 55 percent
Americans age 55+ approve, 50 percent to 48 percent
Most college graduates and those with only a high school education or less disapprove of Trump, while Americans with some college tend to approve of his performance. Republicans strongly support Trump, while independents are more divided, and Democrats are almost completely united in disapproval.
Gallup surveyed 1,015 adults living in all 50 states by phone from June 3-16, and has a margin of error of 4 percentage points.
