While the mainstream media likes to pretend they sort of have their thumb on the pulse of all that’s happening in the world and that everyone should pay close attention to their reporting on the hard hitting issues of the day, the truth is, they sometimes miss the forest for the trees.

Or, more accurately, they often turn a blind eye to what’s going on with certain individuals, particularly of the leftist political persuasion, who are pushing the same agenda they are. People like Hillary Clinton for example.

Unless you’ve been living with your head shoved in the sand, you’ve likely heard all the wacky and debauched stories coming out about the NXIVM sex cult, especially since the leader of the group just had a rather high profile trial that ended with him being found guilty of numerous charges.

Well, there’s been talk for some time of the connections between this cult and Hillary Clinton, connections which were once made in a forgotten article from back in 2007.

Here’s DC Clothesline with more:

All pull quotes are from The Washington Post article, unless otherwise noted.

A purported pyramid-scheme operator who was run out of Arkansas when Bill Clinton was governor has reinvented himself as the head of an upstate group accused of being a “cult” – and his devotees have pumped thousands into Hillary Rodham Clinton‘s presidential run.

Executives and top associates of the Albany-based NXIVM group – along with their family members – donated $29,900 to Clinton’s presidential campaign, according to federal records.

On March 14 and April 13, records show, more than a dozen contributions poured into Clinton’s coffers from NXIVM, an executive and group-awareness training organization led by Brooklyn-born Keith Raniere, 47.

Three of the March and April Clinton pledges came from Raniere’s most high-profile followers: Seagram heiresses Clare and Sara Bronfman, and Pamela Cafritz, daughter of D.C. A-listers Buffy and Bill Cafritz.

Cafritz shares a condo with Raniere.

The Bronfman sisters are also deeply involved with NXIVM and, according to a 2003 article in Forbes magazine, have loaned millions to the group and provided use of their jet.

Their father, Edgar Bronfman Sr., once took NXIVM classes but soon severed ties, telling Forbes, “It’s a cult.”

Hillary isn’t the only Clinton with ties to this despicable, twisted group of individuals. Her husband, former President Bill Clinton also has connections to NXIVM. Now, given Bill’s previous, “sexual indiscretions,” this probably isn’t that much of a surprise to anyone. However, that doesn’t make it any less sickening.

Hillary isn’t the only Clinton NXIVM officials are attracted to.

At least three of them – group President Nancy Salzman and the Bronfman sisters – are members of Bill’s charitable organization, the Clinton Global Initiative. Membership is by invitation only and requires at least a $15,000 donation per person for one year.

Bill and Hillary Clinton’s close personal friend Richard Mays, a former justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court, participated in an interview with NXIVM cult leader Keith Raniere that has now been scrubbed from the Internet by Raniere, who stands trial for child sex trafficking from Mexico. Keith Raniere has removed the video from YouTube and elsewhere, citing a copyright claim.

Mays’ association with Raniere is well known and documented. NXIVM whistleblower Frank Parlato preserved screenshots of Mays’ interview on the cult leader’s “Keith Raniere Conversations” program, which Big League Politics viewed prior to the video’s removal from the web. Big League Politics is not publishing the video, merely reporting its existence.

What’s even more disturbing and frustrating about this situation is the fact Hillary and Bill will likely never be held accountable for their actions involving this deranged cult. With all of the corruption they’ve participated in, one would think at some point their number would be up and they would be prosecuted for something, but their claws go deep into the underbelly of American politics, which enables them to practically get away with murder.

I've the feeling that "sex cult" is a red herring. After all, no law against joining a sex cult if you are of age. These birds must have been involved in politics or perhaps political blackmail.
