William Barr slapped the Deep State with news they have been fearing for two years
Attorney General William Barr cares about law and order.
Just for that he has become the Deep States biggest enemy.
And William Barr just slapped the Deep State with news they have been fearing for two years.
The day former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein formed Robert Muellers special counsel to investigate Russia collusion was the best day the Deep State ever had.
But now that it is over, and William Barr is Attorney General, they are scrambling.
Barr is looking into the origins of the Russia Investigation and all the improper and likely illegal things Obama-era officials did to kick-start the investigation that ended up uncovering nothing.
In particular, they are looking into the connection between Obamas Justice Department and Fusion GPS, which created the dossier that allowed the investigation to begin.
That dossier was receiving funding from Hillary Clinton and the DNC, and as it turns out, they had an immediate connection to the Justice Department.
Fusion GPS employee Nellie Ohr is married to Bruce Ohr, who works in the Justice Department, and just so happened to be the first person to review the now-discredited dossier.
And despite attempts to keep documents about that connection secret, Judicial Watch just gained a huge win, and the Justice Department will release the documents.
The Daily Caller reports:
The Justice Department will release FBI documents early next week that are related to Bruce Ohr, the Justice Department official who met with dossier author Christopher Steele.
In a court filing submitted last Thursday, Justice Department lawyers said the agency will provide FBI notes of interviews conducted with Ohr to Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group that sued for the records last year.
Justice Department lawyers said the agency had initially determined that the Ohr transcripts, known as 302s, should be withheld in full. But after further review in conjunction with DOJs preparation of its motion for summary judgment, DOJ has decided to release the requested records in part to Plaintiff, the lawyers said.
DOJ will make this release to Plaintiff by August 5, 2019.
It is not clear what documents will be released and which might be withheld. Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton announced Thursday night that the documents would be released imminently.
These documents are just another piece of the puzzle.
Eventually, everything relating to the origins of the Russia Investigation will come to light.
And when that happens, dozens of Obama-era officials are going to be in big trouble.
