The New York Times is looking to rewrite America's history by putting "slavery" at "the very center."

Perhaps when you think of the founding of the United States, you think of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Federalist Papers. Now, the New York Times wants to "reframe" your understanding of the nation's founding.

In the Times' view (which it hopes to make the view of millions of Americans), the country was actually founded in 1619, when the first Africans were brought to North America, to Virginia, to be sold as slaves.

This year marks the 400th anniversary of that event, and the Times has created something called the 1619 Project. This is what the paper hopes the project will accomplish: "It aims to reframe the country's history, understanding 1619 as our true founding, and placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of the story we tell ourselves about who we are."

The nice Irish Presbyterian gentleman Mr. Sulzberger is going to tell us "who we are" because apparently we goyim are too stupid to know it for ourselves

The country was actually founded in 1607, which is the main thing they would like to make us forget:

On April 26, 1607 British colonists landed at Cape Henry, Virginia and there began what would become the most free, the most propserous nation in the history of mankind.

Try though others might to rewrite that nation’s history, it began with a prayer. In fact, though the ships reached shore on April 26, the settlers did not come ashore until April 29 because the Reverend Robert Hunt, who later founded the Church at Jamestown, called for three days of prayer and fasting. Reverent Hunt said “From these very shores the Gospel shall go forth to not only this New World but the entire world.”

And in the First Charter of Virginia, King James I assigned lands for the stated purpose of propagating the Christian religion. The Charter reads in part:

“We greatly commending, and graciously accepting of, their Desires for the Furtherance of so noble a Work, which may, by the Providence of Almighty God, hereafter tend to the Glory of his Divine Majesty, in propagating of Christian Religion to such People, as yet live in Darkness and miserable Ignorance of the true Knowledge and Worship of God, and may in time bring the Infidels and Savages, living in those parts, to human Civility, and to a settled and quiet Government; DO by these our Letters Patents, graciously accept of, and agree to, their humble and well-intended Desires.”

Even more significant since in those days land referred to as Virginia stretched from South Carolina to Maine and far to the West.

That beginning is marked today with a monument in the shape of the cross....

Jamestown proclamation neglects Christianity

Presidential statement on 400th anniversary leaves out primary goal

"...So steeped in Christianity was the Jamestown settlement, according to a group trying to rededicate the nation to Jesus, the community had a nearly 3,000-word prayer that was spoken twice daily either by “the Captain of the watch himself, or by some one of his principal officers.”

“We therefore most humbly beseech thee to raise up our hearts with thy good spirit, and so to dispose us to prayer, that with true fervency of heart, feeling of our wants, humbleness of mind, and faith in thy gracious promises, we may present our suites acceptably unto thee by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” it said in opening.

And to close, it raised the name of Jesus again, noting that the settlement was launched “in thy fear, and for thy glory.”

“And seeing thou hast honored us to choose us out to bear thy name unto the Gentiles: we therefore beseech thee to bless us, and this our plantation. Which we and our nation have begun in thy fear, and for thy glory. We know O Lord, we have the devil and all the gates of hell against us, but if thou O Lord be on our side, we care not who be against us. O therefore vouchsafe to be our God, and let us be a part and portion of thy people, confirm thy covenant of grace and mercy with us, which thou hast made to thy Church in Christ Jesus. And seeing Lord the highest end of our plantation here, is to set up the standard, and Display the banner of Jesus Christ, even here where Satan’s throne is Lord, let our labor be blessed in laboring the conversion of the heathen.”..."

May all who see this Cross, remember what we have done here, and may those who come here to inhabit join us in this Covenant and in this most noble work that the Holy Scriptures may be fulfilled.

Using covenantal language, Hunt declared, “from these very shores the Gospel shall go forth not only to this New World but the entire world.” The following Bible passage was read at the conclusion of the prayer: “All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. I suspect "slavery" is a red herring.
