I had a cousin that ran a cigarette vending route on South Side. One day he was going up side street on near south side.

Three black guys stepped out in front of him. One had a pistol. He floored it. They put 4 rounds in the left rear of the truck, driver high. The stock got torn up. The boss was mad the stock got torn up. My cousin said, Screw that. The stock saved my life."

He would also carry a 32.20 revolver. That was a .38 that narrows down to .32. One time a black kid tried to steal some stuff off the back of the truck and he was shooting at him.

He is dead a long time now. He passed a long while before my Auntie Jo. ;)
