How were low-tech drones able to pierce Saudi Arabian security? Defence system called into question despite country spending $65bn on arms last year including US radar and Patriot missiles - as mocking Putin says they should have bought Russian

Poster Comment:

Mike Rivero: Mr.President; a word, please: can you tell both the American people, and the Saudi people, specifically why these US systems, were absolutely impotent, to thwart this attack?!?

This result of this "epic fail" by American weapons makers, is one which is going to have governments scrambling to buy from the Russians, because their s-300 and S-400 systems, actually do what the manual says they will do.

The only possible thing I can think of, as to why these systems didn't work, is that the US technicians who installed them, were ordered to install them so improperly, to insure that they wouldn't work, so that any attack against these facilities would be the springboard for military action against Iran.

Do missile systems even respond/react to drones? I have no idea what it takes to activate the "defense" systems.

Sometimes olde offensive tech comes back into vogue when one considers new tech.

Recall the olde SNARK missile????

Olde, slow terrain following, radar avoiding, launched from a truck, A-bombs?

I have an entirely different theory.

No drones hit their oil plant. They blew it up themselves. It’s a contrivance in order to go to war with IRAN. Since when does Yemen have the ability to field drones? Even the lease sophisticated drones can be taken down with little effort, and this notion that they (Saudis) did not have the capability to knock an enemy drone out of the sky is retarded. This is nothing short of a false flag. If it wasn’t the Saudis themselves, Only Israel would have drones capable of breaching that airspace. It would not be in Iran’s Interests to bomb Saudi Arabia, and it wouldn’t be in the interests of the Yemeni People. So, who benefits from this “Drone Strike”?

Well the list goes as follows. The American Government. The Israelis. The House Of Saud. Because those three entities will be enriched by a conflict. Then there’s the oil companies who can jack up the price even though there is such a glut of oil that cannot be refined it’s not even funny. Who pays for it all? The American Taxpayer.

It’s a farce and a con. All of it.

Very possible.

It is also very POSSIBLE that it happened just as Saudi said it happened.

I wish I could share your optimism. Since 9-11 I have never looked at any attack with that same kind of trust. Especially when so many want an excuse to waltz into Iran. Because this generation in charge wants that biblical prophecy to end on their watch.

I share your doubt and pessimism as it is INDEED WELL FOUNDED.

Both the optimist and pessimist have to share time for being realistic.

I go way back to 1930s, listening to FDR lie like hell, day after day. However, in hindsight, what else was he to say or do???? Is Trump telling truth now, blow Iran off the map, or is he lying, fibbing, bullshitting??? WE DONT KNOW NOR DOES IRAN KNOW.

Poker game, high stakes.

Cynicom while I am quite a bit younger I wi tell you that just in the last 40 years there has been some truly unbelievable shit gone wrong in this country that my generation has been witness to. For anyone to blindly accept the lies of this government they would have to be either so fucking stupid or so apathetic that nothing will ever change.

Exactly and I have lived a lot of it.

There is no simplistic way of describing government or its denizens.

One thing I learned long ago, cream rises to the top on milk, scum rises to the top on swill. Replace swill with politics and it fits perfectly.
