When I lived in Chicago in late 70s, I was making cosmetics deliveries for this woman in the old neighborhood.

She had this purple fluid that would take the kinks out of black's hair. I would deliver it be the gallon to beauty shops on the South Side.

She told me, "Don't take any checks from those people." So I collected CASH. By the time I was finished I had $500 to $800 on me. I ALWAYS carried a pistol and I stayed OFF the side streets.

But one time I was making a right turn at 95th and Stony Island on SE side. There was a KABOOM off to my left. I floored it and got out of there. I looked at the driver's door later and there were little ding marks on it like maybe they shot a .410 at me. Some of those people just do not like whites. :-O

The woman who owned the cosmetics shop was in my parents age group so she is dead a long time now. I heard her son got married. He didn't want to live there so he sold the house. It was Victorian-style house. The guy that bought it had it town down. I bet she is spinning in her grave. :-/

Not at all. But I knew a guy that was selling LSD to 13 and 14 year old kids. I told him if he didn't stop doing that I would give him to the cops myself. He stopped. ;)
