I liked the steel slats because they were artistic.

But turns out they really suck.

NY Daily News:

Migrants and smugglers have succeeded in cutting through President Trump’s “virtually impenetrable” border wall using cordless saws that cost as little as $100 apiece at hardware stores. border agents and officials told the Washington Post.

Trump administration officials admitted being aware of “a few instances” in which people-smugglers managed to breach rebuilt sections of the $10 billion wall that Trump once promised Mexico would pay for, the paper reported.

The widely available saws can cut through the wall’s steel bollards within a matter of minutes. The 30-foot-tall panels can then be easily pushed forward, allowing people to pass through.

Most of the reported border crossing involving cuts through the wall have occurred in the busy area near San Diego, the paper said.

Past and present border officials insisted the newly reinforced sections of wall are still harder to cut through than they were before. They attributed the new breaches to the constant innovation of smuggling gangs, which amount to a multi-billion dollar industry of sneaking undocumented immigrants into the U.S.

“They’re not just going to leave San Diego because the wall gets better,” Ronald Vitiello, a former U.S. Border Patrol and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement chief, told the Post. “That’s life on the border.”

You would have thought maybe someone would have thought of this.

Kind of obvious now, looking back.

I've been saying this would happen the entire time and that the stupid slats were useless. What a shame ppl love to be duped by such idiocies. Think of the raw materials wasted and the wildlife disturbed by this insane partitioning of the environment (after everything the invaders have already done to it, no less).

There remains only one solution that will actually work -- going back to the pre-1965 policies -- and only one person you know that's been saying this the entire time: I. (I'd say pre-1965 laws, but to my knowledge the laws have been there undisturbed since they were passed long before that. The problem is not the laws, the system isn't broken, it's just the corrupt politicians all over again.)

We are radically going down for the count, and only "radical" solutions will work.
