Do you remember Maplethorpe? He was the queer artiest who made a statue of Jesus and put him in a jar of his urine. He exhibited this atrocity in America. Christians did nothing. He announced an exhibit in London. But the gallery owner got a call from a Muslim immigrant. He said, "Jesus was a prophet of Islam. Do not slander a prophet of Islam." The exhibit was withdrawn. End of story.

Jesus was a prophet of Islam.

Maybe I have been out of the loop, but this is the first time I have ever heard this. ;)

Muslims believe Jesus is the Jewish Messiah. They also believe in Mary and the Virgin birth. They don't believe he died on the cross. They believe a friend took his place.

OK What you are saying does ring a bell now.

How can we believe it was a friend that took his place when Judas betrayed Christ? ;)

There are two competing ideologies about the afterlife. The hunters believe in reincarnation. The Mideast planters and their descendants believe in resurrection as a plant dies and is reborn in the Spring.

Who believes in the 72 virgins as the reward for martyrdom? (I'd never heard of the hunters and the planters...)

Hunters and planters refers to occupations of various people 10,000 years ago. Planters used the analogy of a seed being planted from last year's crop to be reborn this year in the Spring. The hunter thought in terms of the spirit of the animal so he thought of humans as reincarnating,
